Ilfracombe Community Land Trust Aspirations
ICLT is committed to providing good quality social housing for local people. Our intention is to provide exemplary accommodation for a mix of residents of all ages including single people, couples and families. We want to provide homes for life that are truly affordable to live in. This means low cost rents and homes that are economical to run and easy to maintain. We want our homes to be sustainable for the environment as well.
ICLT wants to build communities and to ensure that residents have access to flexible accommodation and shared spaces. We want to ensure that residents can work, shop, socialise and go to school in our Town and contribute to the wider community. We are committed to the principle that decent housing for life gives people dignity and security and has a positive impact on physical and mental well-being.
ICLT wants residents to be involved in their homes and make choices. As a Land Trust we recognise that there are many people in our town that have little chance of ever gaining long term accommodation and we want to offer these individuals, couples and families a chance to change that.
In line with all other Community Land Trusts, Ilfracombe CLT will have a clear and transparent policy for deciding how and to whom its properties will be let.
There will be a core policy across all our properties based on such matters as the length of time people have lived or worked in the area. It may also be necessary for there to be some variation between sites as planning and covenant permission may require.
Details of our Lettings Policy will be published here as and when available.
In addition to the Rules of the Society, ICLT have agreed a number of policy documents that guide our day to day activity:
- Complaints
- Finance & Reserves
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- Lettings
- Membership
- Safeguarding
